The Loft has closed for the Month of April
(plus the first 3 weeks of May) due to Covid-19

Rules when open

To keep everyone safe and in accordance with the rules, there are some procedures to follow.

  • Audiences at film screenings are limited to 18 people, Physical distancing measures are in place.
  • All patrons must wear a mask or face covering

  • Patrons are requested to prepay by $10.00 e-transfer to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
  • If unable to prepay please have exact change $10.00
  • Films play at 2 PM and 7 PM. Plan to arrive 15 minutes before show time.
  • Feel free to bring your own beverage.

One live show has already been scheduled - Les Amis on April 11 but will have to be cancelled.  But one for May 16 will hopefully happen.

The Loft Cinema is a downtown, second-storey, soft-seat, boutique theatre. We specialize in contemporary documentaries and independent and foreign films. We have a stage, 20' screen, digital cinema system and full PA. Our building is a beautiful, art-deco, 1922-vintage, former worship space.

The Loft Cinema is upstairs over Craft Food House at 201 Division St., Cobourg K9A 3P6 ... just one block north of the Cobourg beach and marina and one block south of Cobourg's main street, King St, also Highway 2. The Loft is home to Les AMIS Chamber Music Concerts (a live classical music series featuring world-acclaimed musicians). There is also play Ballets and Operas from Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Admission to film screenings is $10 via pre-registering or at the door. Concert admissions, if there are any, are usually $25 or more and can be purchased on-line at ('Tickets') or at the Victoria Hall Concert Hall Box office 905-372-2210 (when it re-opens).
